I was listening to an episode of Hypercritical (kinda critical) which is a podcast that is normally hosted by John Siracusa but this particular episode had Marco Arment, Dan Benjamin and Merlin Mann. It was interesting as they dug through some thoughts on the feelings of creative people and the desire to be recognized. As is often the case, when people don't get the recognition that they were hoping for or expecting, then they will stop pursuing the thing they were hoping to get recognition for. I can relate to this in many ways. I would love to say that I am not shallow in any way at all but the truth is I think sometimes we depend on recognition for invigoration or motivation. Perhaps these blog entries will be slightly different. I am writing about UX and UI for the purpose of becoming more able to write about UX and UI. It's an exercise of public practice.
